'we rounded off our trip with a bit of stunning scenery and exercise and the trip did not disappoint. Tim (our guide) was congenial, knowledgeable and helpful in taking us to the base of the hike, shepherding us through the hike and of course, ensuring we got the obligatory "top-of-the-world" shots. Tim's knowledge of the local area made the trip an excellent end to our down-south adventure. The subsequent Plowman's lunch at the winery was welcome and for once deserved.' At the National ANZAC Centre interactive displays will take you on an intimate journey of a participant in the conflict. Under the shade of trees planted to remember fallen soldiers, the Avenue of Honour leads to the Memorial of the Desert Mounted Corps . The dawn service is Padre White’s story. Take in the view that the departing ANZAC Troops had before they sailed onwards to war; for some of them, the last vision of homeland at the peak of Mt Clarence .
Curving around Mt Adelaide , Breaksea Island comes into view and stories of the construction of the lighthouse and its connection to the ANZAC narrative are revealed. Your journey begins at 4:30 PM, departing the trailhead at picturesque Whalers Cove. In the late afternoon soft light over the landscape, you'll embark on a fully guided walk along a trail in nature. The path, ranging from easy stretches to moderate inclines, winds through coastal bushland, along the beach and onto the granite rise at Uredale Point. See the majestic and captivating King George Sound, the serene water in Princess Royal Harbour, and foamy waves at Bramble Beach. Feel the fresh evening air and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Albany coastline.

Throughout your approximately 2-hour walk to Uredale Point and back, your expert guide will share stories of First Nations man, Uredale; a Menang elder. A narrative is woven that brings the landscape to life connecting us all around the bloodroot plant. This native plant is the inspiration for Kola’s light installation in Albany. 

As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow you’ll relax at Uredale Point, with the absolute best views of Kari Kola's 'Lighting of the Sound'. This ethereal spectacle transforms the coastline into a canvas of light and artistry. Full day tour to four wineries in the Mt Barker sub-region of the Great Southern Wine Appellation. Meet the families who own the properties, make the wine and serve you at the cellar door. The Great Southern is known for Rieslings; be surprised by a Shiraz! Enjoy a delicious local produce shared platter lunch at award-winning Plantagenet Wines. Meander through backroads. Taste outstanding wines from wineries of the Mt Barker sub-region, grown in cool climate and nestled in nature.  

Your Albany Tours guide will take care of the skipper duties, whilst you take pleasure in tastings. 

This region has a characteristically cool climate with slow ripening times which allows for the development of rich flavours and quality grape juice. Wine tasting begins at Gilbert Wines, home to the ‘lads’ and where a morning coffee might be preferred. At Plantagenet wines you are taken to the tasting bench to choose your wine and make your purchase to accompany a scrumptious shared platter lunch of local produce. Onwards the tour will take you to Galafrey Wines another family-owned winery and home to prominent female wine-maker Kim Tyrer. From there to West Cape Howe where you can sample wine from their extensive range, olive oil or their own brand of coffee!  Our Albany Tour guide will take care of the skipper duties, whilst you relax and enjoy the scenery and the sensational flavours of the region.

A fantastic day! Small group. Visited 4 wineries for tastings - all quite different. A good introduction to the region. Susan our guide was very knowledgeable about the region, the wineries and the wines. Also included a lovely shared platter lunch. Highly recommended.
