Adelaide City to Sea Bike Tour

A landscape of blue seas and golden sands awaits as you cycle from Adelaide’s riverbank precinct, follow the River Torrens Linear Trail to the beach, then continue along the spectacular foreshore to Glenelg, one of Adelaide’s favourite coastal destinations.

Discover Adelaide’s Riverbank Precinct, the River Torrens Linear Trail, West Beach and Glenelg. Ride along Adelaide’s coastline and enjoy beautiful views across the ocean.

Stop and take in the scenery over a light morning tea, with your choice of a savoury or sweet treat and coffee, tea or a cold drink.

Soak up the atmosphere and explore vibrant Glenelg at your leisure. There is no need to ride back, as the bikes are collected when you arrive in Glenelg.

Return to the Adelaide CBD at your leisure via the direct Glenelg tram.

Enjoy a small group tour with a maximum of 10 people. The easy and relaxed pace follows designated bike paths and trails suitable for a range of riding abilities.

This fun and engaging outdoor tour provides an active and alternative way to travel from the Riverbank Precinct to the beach. It is also a great way to experience some of Adelaide’s best-known attractions, with plenty of photo stops and surprises along the way.

Experience the vibrant Riverbank Precinct

Starting from Pinky Flat beside the River Torrens, cycle through Adelaide’s Riverbank Precinct, home to significant buildings, sporting venues and public spaces.

Sights include Adelaide Oval, the Riverbank Footbridge, Elder Park, the Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide Convention Centre and the historic rowing sheds.

Ride the serene River Torrens Linear Trail

Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the river, parks and wetlands as you ride along the River Torrens Linear Trail. Pass historic sites, cross beneath viaducts and bridges, and enjoy the changing natural landscape.

As the river trail comes to an end, you will begin to feel the ocean breeze before reaching the coast.

Cycle along the spectacular coastline

Head south along the dedicated coastal cycle path and take in expansive views towards the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Experience the South Australian coastal lifestyle as you ride past beachside homes, sailing clubs and protected sand dunes. The final stretch continues through the Marina Pier precinct and along the Glenelg foreshore before arriving at Moseley Square.

Stay and explore Glenelg

This popular coastal destination offers swimming, dining, shopping and entertainment.

Explore Jetty Road, visit local museums and galleries, relax with an ice cream or walk along the sandy beach. You may also choose to swim in the calm sea or stay for lunch.

Your return to the city is at your leisure via the Glenelg tram.


DEPARTURE LOCATION

The meeting location for this tour is Pinky Flat, beside the River Torrens in Adelaide’s Riverbank Precinct.

Please arrive 10 minutes before departure for check-in and bike fitting.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The minimum rider height is 148 cm.

The height of each rider must be provided at the time of booking so the correct bike sizes can be prepared before departure.

This tour does not cater for children under 12 years of age, except for private group bookings.

All children aged 12 to 17 years must be accompanied by a fare-paying adult.

Please wear clothing suitable for cycling and enclosed footwear.

Please bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a sunhat, a full reusable drink bottle and a small backpack for personal items. The bikes do not have baskets or drink bottle holders.

A basic level of bike riding competence is required.

The approximate riding distance is 25 km, with plenty of short breaks along the way.

This tour may occasionally operate alongside our full-day City to Sea Bike and Kayak Safari. Your itinerary will differ from guests booked on the full-day experience.
