DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
- We’re pleased to accommodate most dietary requirements, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan and Halal options.
- Simply let us know when booking or provide at least 10 days’ notice so our team can prepare everything properly and ensure a seamless experience for your guests.
BOOKING TERMS
- For the event listed above, a minimum of 10 participants or a minimum spend of $1,650 (whichever is greater) is required.
- Full payment is needed at the time of booking to secure your session for up to 12 guests (2-hour session) or 10 guests (3-hour session), provided the booking is made within 14 days of the event date. Payment can be made via credit/debit card, bank transfer, or cash.
- For groups larger than 12 or 10 guests respectively, the date can be secured with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due three (3) weeks before the event, along with final guest numbers and dietary requirements.
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event are eligible for a 50% refund of the deposit. For cancellations within 14 days, no refund will be issued and the minimum spend will still apply. No refund will be given for no-shows or early departures on the day.
- Final numbers and dietary requirements must be confirmed at least 14 days before your session. This allows us to pre-order ingredients and allocate staff accordingly.
- If you wish to add more participants after this time, please email us at hello@otaokitchen.com.au. We'll do our best to accommodate your request.

- For a large corporate party of 24+ guests, we can include another class such as sushi, pasta or dumpling as it would give the group a second option of cooking and making in the same room.
- For rescheduling made more than 14 days prior to the event, there is no charge to change to your new date. After the first date change, there will be $49pp per date change. For rescheduling made within 14 days prior to the event, we can only accept that you are being sick with a medical certificate, and we will still charge $49 for administration fee.
- No refund or reschedule will take effect (1) if you fail to arrive at the venue at the time stipulated, (2) if you voluntarily leave your class after it has commenced, (3) if you need to leave the event for reasons of bereavement, injury or illness. My partner and I had a good time learning how to make pizzas. The staff we're very nice and friendly. The kitchen was clean and well organised. We had an abundance of ingredients to choose from and the final product turned out great. We ended up making a few pizzas in the process which was great practice. We learnt a lot and thanks for the extra tips. Thanks for having us we can't wait to apply what we've learnt at home :)

The venue was great and in a central location, our teacher Dylan was fantastic, didn't go too fast and made sure everyone was on track and most of all the food was amazing. Our Dumpling cooking classes are perfect for your work Christmas party, birthday party, anniversary, hens party, Bucks Party, Team Building Cooking, Work lunch and dinner or Corporate event. We can cater to different dietary requirements - please let us know by email hello@otaoktichen.com.au For rescheduling made more than 14 days prior to the event, there is no charge to change to your new date. After the first date change, there will be $49pp per date change. For rescheduling made within 14 days prior to the event, we can only accept that you are being sick with a medical certificate, and we will still charge $49 for administration fee. No refund or reschedule will take effect (1) if you fail to arrive at the venue at the time stipulated, (2) if you voluntarily leave your class after it has commenced, (3) if you need to leave the event for reasons of bereavement, injury or illness. Travel insurance and medical insurance are therefore strongly recommended. In the event that you are unwell, we ask that you send someone in your place. The participants who are not unwell will still be expected to attend. Lateness: please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the class. Only thing lacking that might have been nice was some more explanations about the ingredients being used, best places to buy them, how to store them or substitutes if you struggle to find them.

We are passionate about Greek food and using the simplest ingredients as all Greeks do. We'll show you how to create authentic Greek dishes bursting with flavour. Our expertly chef will guide you through the recipes, enabling you to recreate these classic dishes at home.

My husband and I did the Chinese cooking class with Dylan, and we absolutely loved it. Not previously being the biggest fans of Chinese food, we took the class out of curiosity. We learnt all about the different types of cuisine and the different regions of China in a relaxed atmosphere. We ended up loving the food we made (which was Sichuan) and had a great night. We now want to sign up for more classes and bring some friends.

My husband and I did the Chinese cooking class with Dylan, and we absolutely loved it. Not previously being the biggest fans of Chinese food, we took the class out of curiosity. This was a great hands-on cooking class, where we made three dishes from scratch and completed a fourth where the instructor provided the base ingredients due to time constraints. Our instructor, Dylan, was great and happily answered all our questions and provided lots of background information about Vietnamese cuisine and culture. We were able to take our leftovers home and they provided me with my meals for the next two days. I was given this class as a Christmas present and had a wonderful time. I will definitely be adding these delicious dishes to my regular meals when cooking at home.

This was a great hands-on cooking class, where we made three dishes from scratch and completed a fourth where the instructor provided the base ingredients due to time constraints. Our instructor, Dylan, was great and happily answered all our questions and provided lots of background information about Vietnamese cuisine and culture. We were able to take our leftovers home and they provided me with my meals for the next two days. I was given this class as a Christmas present and had a wonderful time. I will definitely be adding these delicious dishes to my regular meals when cooking at home.

I attended the Japanese Cooking Masterclass at Otao Kitchen as a single participant and found the experience to be very enjoyable.
The class time took approximately 3 hours and working in pairs, we prepared Makizushi-sushi rolls, okonomiyaki and ramen noodles. We then enjoyed eating what we ate with a drink.
The instructor, Chef Dylan was very knowledgeable and ran a good class. I feel confident that I will be able to recreate the dishes prepared during the class in my own kitchen. I definitely plan to attend another class in the future at Otao kitchen.

If anything, I was the only one in the class who printed my menu and brought it into class to make notes as we went along and because of how many dishes we made I found it to be extremely helpful in arranging my thoughts and keeping track of what we had created and what were the tidbits we were learning. This South American cooking class will take you on an adventure from Venezuela to Buenos Aires, exploring new ingredients and flavours, which perhaps have never graced your pantry or your palate, but will open a door that will leave you wanting more.

- For rescheduling made more than 14 days prior to the event, there is no charge to change to your new date. After the first date change, there will be $49pp per date change. Stage One – Social Cooking & Connection
Your experience begins with a guided social cooking session.
Guests work together in a relaxed environment, preparing dishes side by side with support from our professional chefs. This warm-up session helps everyone feel comfortable in the kitchen while building natural connection and conversation.
Teams that connect early communicate better during the challenge. When people share ideas, support each other and recognise individual strengths, problem-solving improves and collaboration becomes stronger. This stage allows participants to identify who naturally leads, who organises, who creates and who supports — all before the competition begins.
Guests enjoy the dishes they prepare before moving into the competitive round.
Stage Two – The MasterChef Challenge
Now the pressure begins. Teams are divided into groups of 3–10 participants and given a competitive brief. We can host 3-8 teams in out venue setting for upto 60 people. Each team must create a standout dish from a chosen cuisine using fresh ingredients from our pantry — plus a surprise “Magic Ingredient.”
We already prepare your recipes. Creativity encouraged. Internet research allowed.
Contestants are tested on:
- Time management
- Plating and presentation
- Flavour balance and innovation
- Team coordination under pressure
Each team must cook one plate/portion per team member plus one plate/portion for the chef judge within 1 hour.
Teams are required to:
- Execute a strong classic foundation
- Integrate the Magic Ingredient creatively
- Present and justify their flavour decisions
There is a role for everyone — Head Chef, Sous Chef, Prep Cook, Stylist, Presenter or Strategist. Even guests with little cooking experience can contribute meaningfully.
This makes it an ideal corporate team building activity where everyone participates.
Stage 3 Judging & Celebration
Dishes are judged by our professional chefs (or a guest judge chosen by you) based on: Innovation • Flavour balance • Integration of the Magic Ingredient • Presentation • Teamwork
Our master of ceremonies may introduce surprise twists to keep energy levels high and create memorable moments of friendly rivalry.
The event concludes with a shared meal, complimentary wine and beer, and a formal award presentation for the winning team.

The Ultimate Innovation Challenge is a corporate culinary experience where teams design and launch a food business concept within one day. Participants are required to:

On The Day
Arrival, coffee and private meeting
Participants begin the day by settling in, connecting with colleagues, and aligning as a group. This helps build rapport, encourages open communication, and creates a strong foundation for teamwork.Executive Brief and Challenge Launch
At the official start, teams are introduced to the challenge, scoring criteria, and commercial expectations. At this stage, participants develop strategic thinking by understanding the business objective and the constraints they must work within. They also begin collaborating by discussing how they want to approach the challenge.Business Concept and Strategy Session
Teams work together to create their business idea, such as a retail product, food truck concept, packaged line, or meal-on-wheels solution. Here, participants learn customer analysis, competitor thinking, creativity, and value proposition design. They share ideas, debate options, and collaborate to choose one direction as a team.Working Lunch
Lunch is served while teams continue their discussions. This is a valuable moment for informal collaboration, where participants refine their concept, align on priorities, and strengthen communication in a more relaxed setting.Financial Modelling and Procurement
Teams move into the commercial side of the challenge by calculating costs, setting a selling price, estimating gross margin, and working out break-even. This develops financial literacy, commercial awareness, and practical decision-making. Team members collaborate closely to balance creativity with business viability, while one person takes responsibility for ingredient purchasing.Culinary Execution
This is where strategy turns into action. Participants assign roles, manage time, coordinate tasks, and execute their product under pressure. They strengthen leadership, operational planning, adaptability, and problem-solving. This stage requires strong collaboration, because success depends on each team member contributing effectively and supporting one another.Final Presentations and Judging
Teams present their concept in an investor-style pitch supported by an A3 business dashboard. Participants build presentation skills, confidence, and the ability to explain and defend decisions. Booking Terms
- For the event listed above, a minimum of 10 participants or a minimum spend of $4,950 is required.
- Full payment is needed at the time of booking to secure your session, provided the booking is made within 14 days of the event date. Payment can be made via credit/debit card, bank transfer, or cash.
- For groups larger than 12 or 10 guests respectively, the date can be secured with a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due three (3) weeks before the event, along with final guest numbers and dietary requirements.
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event are eligible for a 50% refund of the deposit. For cancellations within 14 days, no refund will be issued and the minimum spend will still apply. No refund will be given for no-shows or early departures on the day.
