Live Music Melbourne
Melbourne is a mecca for musicians and music fans alike. Tiny basement bars to huge stadiums host anything from local independent bands to international superstars, 7 nights a week. It’s no wonder Melbourne boasts more music venues per person than any other city in the world!
Over the course of this 4-hour bus tour guests will learn about the venues and musicians that have transformed Melbourne into the musical haven for which it is renowned. The informative tour is both fun and interactive as we explore the places and faces beloved by music fans and Melburnians alike.
Together we will discover some of the venues most cherished by Melbourne music fans. Basement bars boasting famous clientele, pubs and clubs that have seen it all and stadiums big enough for the brightest stars. We won’t just drive you past these venues, we’ll hop out to visit a few and even enjoy a drink or two!
Along the way we’ll listen to music which was written about or else inspired by this marvellous city. Melbourne’s famously unpredictable weather seems to be a common influence among song writers that have lived in or visited Melbourne!
We will reveal the faces of many of our most beloved music personalities. From the 1960’s to today, match the names to some of the most famous Melbourne faces in music.
On the corner of Flinders and Russell Street, our tour will commence outside the Russell Street entrance of the Duke of Wellington pub. Then board the bus to unearth the obscurities of Melbourne’s music scene. This tour also includes an optional finishing point taking in the Australian Music Vault – a free, permanent exhibition of Australian music which includes interactive and digital experiences plus a fantastic collection of iconic artefacts.
Included: Numerous stops along the way including 1 or 2 drinks stops (subject to venue availability) where you can choose between a beer, wine or soft drink Quizzes with a prize for the winner/s. Plenty of photo opportunities along the way.
