Tours Prelinna

Breath-taking scenery and off-road 4WD experience. Get up close and personal to the Chace and ABC Ranges, plus views of the Elder Range and Rawnsley Bluff. The ascent to Prelinna Lookout is a highlight of this trip.


The Arkapena Tour is aimed at those who are looking for a 4WD adventure. Your guide will take you out on our rugged 4WD tracks to explore Rawnsley's 30,000 acres.
As you drive across the station, you will learn about the geology of the Flinders Ranges, the history or pastoralism and Rawnsley Park Station, plus the many varieties of vegetation that grow in our semi a-arid climate.
As the track meanders through the foothills of the Chace Range, you will get stunning views out across Rawnsley Park and towards Wilpena Pound. Don't forget to breathe as you make your way up the steep 4WD track to Prelinna Lookout - 680 meters above sea level, with spectacular 360-degree views of the Chace Range, the Elder Range, Wilpena Pound and Rawnsley Park Station. Buckle up!

For a child rate to apply, it has to be accompanied by two full paying guests. Each tour has room for one child seat. Guests are required to provide their own.

If you have only one day to see the Flinders Ranges, then this is the tour for you. Explore Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, see yellow footed rock wallabies and learn about the geology of the area. Have lunch at Parachilna's Prairie Hotel, famous for its feral food. On the way back, we travel through Parachilna Gorge to the heritage town of Blinman, before returning to Rawnsley Park.


Get ready to take a drive back through time. Enjoy breath taking views of Wilpena Pound and Bunyeroo Valley as you make your way into Bunyeroo Gorge.
From there you will continue to Brachina Gorge, where your guide will show you some of the oldest fossils on the planet. As you meander through the impressive rock formations, keep a watchful eye out for the elusive yellow-footed rock wallabies.
Exiting the gorge to the west, you will continue to the small town of Parachilna for lunch at the famed Prairie Hotel.
Then it will be back in the car for a scenic drive through Parachilna Gorge over to Blinman where you will visit Wadna, an Aboriginal culture and art shop. On the way back to Rawnsley Park Station there is the chance to see the Great Wall of China. Cameras at the ready!
