from the Port to Airport, and in between – whether you are looking for something to do while
waiting to check into their hotel or on a cruise ship stop over. We understand having so much
you want to see but not knowing where to begin, that’s why we are here to help!
Our Christchurch City hop on hop off bus is the perfect introduction to the largest city in the
South Island.
We offer unique experiences and that personal touch as we head through panoramic views of
the world’s most unique destinations filled with exploration, art and urban innovations as we
make our way through the must-see locations and landmarks. Fun for the whole family this is a
great way to explore a “big city”. You will be able to enjoy all the fun and history this city has to
offer through our knowledgeable, friendly, and local guide. Come on a journey and watch this
city come alive with atmosphere and color as you discover the city’s fascinating changes
throughout its pioneering days to modern times. We will make our way to the iconic Pier in New
Brighton, the stunning coastal seaside and unusual volcanic rock formations canterbury plains,
Southern Alps and so much more.
Our route has buses spaced 45 minutes which allows plenty of time to explore each stop. 24hr

Itinerary and stops:
Botanical Gardens / Museum: Explore the 30-hectare Botanic Gardens of Christchurch
offering vibrant floral displays all year round and stunning blossoming of rhododendrons,
azaleas, and daffodils. Visitors can explore the gardens, relax on the lawns, or visit the nearby
playground, information Centre, cafe, and gift shop, making it a must-visit destination in the city
for nature lovers and families alike.
Art Centre / CBD: The Central Art Gallery is a renowned gallery that showcases established
contemporary New Zealand artists. This space is a welcoming environment for not only well-
known artists but also those up and coming. Connecting people with art, aiming to enhance
viewers through engaging pieces, Visitors are encouraged to browse the ever-changing
exhibitions. While here you may choose to explore the CBD, Christchurch is home to local New
Zealand food, unique boutique shopping, and is a great place to learn about the remarkable
history this place has to offer.
Mona Vale: well -known for its relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, this is the great place
to do exactly that, relax. Surrounded by roses, flower beds and history, you will have
time to walk this lovely mini botanical garden through the path that gently flows down the
Avon River
Antarctic center / Airport: At the International Antarctic Centre, visitors will be exposed to an
immersive experience in the center's 4D cinema simulating a cruise to Antarctica. For a more
interactive experience, explore the freezing indoor storm, seek refuge in an ice cave, and
experience a thrilling ride in the Hagglund vehicle. End the visit with some fun snowballing and
don't forget to visit the Husky Cuddle Zone and witness the rescued little blue penguins, native


to New Zealand, with daily feedings at this engaging and educational attraction, fun for the
whole family.
Willowbank Wildlife: A diverse collection of native and exotic animals, including kea, kiwi,
kunekune pigs, and gibbons, where they coexist in this wildlife reserve. Interactive displays
allow visitors to engage closely with the animals, such as feeding sessions. The Nocturnal
House offers a chance to encounter a kiwi up close, while the immersive Maori cultural
experience, Ko Tāne, is staged every evening in the reserve. Guided tours during the late
afternoon provide in-depth insight into the wildlife.
New Brighton Beach: Look beyond the Pacific from the iconic Pier. This little piece of paradise
is a tourist attraction found in New Brighton – the town offers a surf lifesaving club, a seaside
shopping mall, and New Brighton’s newest hot pools. Saturday markets, a range of bars, cafes
and accommodation all make up New Brighton. Fishing on the pier is also very popular which
undoubtedly you will come across when visiting. You will have time to dip your toes in the sand
as you are surrounded by mountains on your left and hills on your right.
Sumner: We leave the seaside village of New Brighton and head over towards another coastal
paradise, Sumner Beach. Sumner is one of the oldest European settlements in the Christchurch
area, You will enjoy the view as we make our way along the beach, coffee shops and local
stores. Sumner beach is a popular spot for locals to relax and to enjoy the seaside architecture.
Harbour and city lookout: Heading towards the harbour we check out the old WW2 cost
defense positions and the never-ending view of the mighty Pacific Ocean – get those
phones/cameras ready for the all-important photos and videos, the views are amazing! From
this amazing lookout you will overlook towards Taylors mistake, which has a funny back story to
it!
Lyttelton / Cruise Terminal: Nestled amongst the scenic Port Hills, Lyttleton provides charming
and eclectic suburbs boasting with local astrosphere and history. Known as the 'gateway to
Canterbury' for early settlers in the 1700s, Lyttelton nurtures a rich cultural heritage centered
around music, food, and community spirit. The neighborhood reflects commitment to local
talent, sustainability, and individuality that sets it apart as one of Christchurch's hidden gems.
Gondola: A must-visit attraction in Christchurch, the Gondola provides breathtaking and
uninterrupted views of the city and Lyttelton Harbour. Ideal for families and tourists alike,
