Walking Tours Mansfield

This exploration trip will take you back in history to the days of the gold rush era. The history of our region is mingled with the native bush, with relics of the past to be observed along the way. A variety of short walks on well formed paths are part of the tour, though participants may choose to spend time relaxing on the riverbank if this is preferred!


The day will ensure participants see one/several huts of the High Country; a tunnel dug to assist in the search for gold; native Australian bush landscapes (flora and fauna); a river of the High Country and relics of the gold rush era.


Enjoy a picnic lunch (bring your own or catering for additional costs). ​

Be emersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the native bush as you enjoy a chauffeured, guided walk to a local waterfall where the well-formed track meanders along a fern-lined gurgling brook. Explore the first signs of autumn as the flora prepares for the cooler weather ahead. We will enjoy the warm autumn day with a gourmet picnic lunch by the river, before heading to the vineyard to meet the winemaker, Ros Ritchie, or her husband John. Here we will learn about the process of winemaking from vine to bottle. Wine tasting is then our 'reward' as we relax after our morning walk, with new/old friends and sample the selection of cool climate reds and whites Ros has produced.
