7-Day Wildflower Magic Perth to Esperance – Albany Tour gets you into the major hotspots of Western Australia’s famous wildflowers. Hot spots include Esperance, Fitzgerald River National Park, Stirling Range National Park and the ultimate of wilderness in the Frank Hann National Park and Cascades.
This Seven Day Wildflower Tour takes in isolated roads, spectacular southern coastal wilderness in the national parks you will see the flowers that many people dream in masses of biodiversity of species, lots of mixed colour and varying sizes.

Day 1 – Perth to Kukerin
Perth Bannister, Narrogin, Harrismith, Mary’s Farm Cottages, Kukerin
This morning our first stop is along the Albany Highway to visit an amazing area of high density of flora before visiting Dryandra Conservation Reserve. Made up of a mix woodland and Kwongan (heathland) covering an area of approx. of 50 Km radius includes degraded bush and farmland that has been reclaimed.


Dryandra is renowned for rear and endanger fauna and flora. We drive through this region and make several stops to see if we can spot numbats and the wildflowers which are spectacular in this area.
Lunch is at Narrogin, visit Foxes Lair which is a local community endeavour to rehabilitate this area that has a vast variety of flowers and birds.
On the way to Harrismith visit Yillimining Rock to see spectacular panorama of the surrounding district of Narrogin. In the woodland adjacent is the
The Wheatbelt’s “forgotten conservationist” George Brockway has been honoured with a towering salmon gum — the species he was most responsible for conserving — named after him at Yilliminning Rock.
The tree was commemorates George Brockway’s work and history, including his contribution to woodlands preservation, a pioneer in bushfire control. The creator of conservation reserves in the Wheatbelt, and developed many of the first native flora nurseries in Australia.
The wildflowers of Harrismith sand plain area are the most spectacular to be found in this region. Mallee heath found here is dominated by the three largest botanical families in Australia; (Epacridaceae), the Bearded Heath, (Myrtaceae), the Verticordias, Eucalyptus and Calothamnus and (Proteaceae) the Banksias, Dryandras,


Continue to Kukerin our overnight stay at Mary’s Farm Cottages. The Nenke family warmly welcome you to their eco village on their family farm near the town of Kukerin.

Day 2 – Kukerin to Esperance
Lake King, Frank Hahn National Park, Cascades, Esperance
Cambinata is a working farm and while you are here, we visit the Nenkes’ family’s ‘state of the art’ yabby (fresh water crayfish) establishment.
Cambinata Yabbies is the largest and most sophisticated yabby processing facility in Australia. Here you can enjoy a tour and can purchase delicious gourmet products that you can enjoy or take home as gifts.
This Morning we cross the eastern wheatbelt region visiting Tarin Rock Nature reserve for regional flora, there are over 600 species in this special Nature Reserve, and Lake Grace to Lake King visit wildflower spots along the way.
East of Lake King is the Rabbit-Proof Fence boasting magnificent displays of wildflowers in season.
We take an outback road to Esperance via the Cascades going through Frank Hahn National Park.
Frank Hahn National Park has been declared to protect sandplain habitat and health flora Mallee and wattles, melaleucas.
Travelling on through characteristic Mallee-heathland wilderness. Cascades Mallee – Heathland offer areas of masses of flowers and then into the Cascades – Esperance expansive farming region.
Both the National Park and Mallee-heathland have a spectacular range of wildflowers afforded by its isolation.
Esperance is Australia’s best-kept secret.
The Esperance region is distinguished by spectacular coastal scenery and a diversity of wildlife including seals, dolphins, whales, emus, and sea eagles plus pristine beaches and 110 islands that make up the Recherche Archipelago. With stunning national parks, this is one of a few places in Western Australia where you may see kangaroos sunbathing on the beach.

Day 3 – Esperances Duke of Orleans Bay, Wharton, Cape Le Grand
This morning, we drive east of Esperance to spend to a day exploring Cape Arid for its extraordinary biodiversity and dazzling coastline, Duke Orleans Bay and Wharton Bay, the local’s favourite beach a must visit and checkout the wildflowers.
Lunch at Condingup Tavern
There are not too many places in Australia where you see kangaroos soaking up the sun on the beach, but at Cape Le Grand National Park this is just one of the many natural highs on offer. The landscape changes from massive granite outcrops to freshwater pools and unbelievably white sandy beaches with views over many islands. With stops for regional wildflowers and visit Lucky Bay to see the Kangaroos on the Beach

Day 4 – Esperance to Hopetoun
Cascades Falls, Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun
Leaving the Esperance region visit Cascades Falls. A gorgeous little nature reserve only the locals know about. After the winter rains the waterfalls are cascading over granite out crops. With wildflowers edging the creeks and paths. a wildflower spotter’s dream.
Later travel to Ravensthorpe via back roads and will be stopping to view regional red Lechenaultia Formosa, red four-winged eucalyptus, and other amazing flowers.
Ravensthorpe & Hopetoun enjoy a temperate Mediterranean climate. Ravensthorpe is surrounded by ancient mountain ranges which have 1400 species of flora. Rocky hills, rugged river valleys, vast sand plains, estuaries and large inlets provide the area with a wealth of natural beauty, flora and birds.
The wildflowers in the Ravensthorpe region are astounding we will be spending the afternoon looking at the amazing diversification of flora.

Day 5 – Hopetoun to Bremer Bay
Fitzgerald River National Park, Bremer Bay
Today we spend all day in the Fitzgerald River National Park to really explore this unique flora hot spot. Which has 20% of Western Australia’s flora.
Fitzgerald River National Park is one of the reasons Western Australia Wildflowers are highly regarded.
The Fitzgerald River National Park is now recognised as one of the most diverse botanical regions on earth with over 1,800 species of flowering plants alone. In spring, the landscape is dotted with colourful wildflowers including banksias, hakeas, bottlebrush, feather flowers, Quaalup bell, orchids and many others.
Bremer Bay’s isolation is one of its finest features along with scenic beauty, magnificent turquoise waters of bays and beaches and diversity of flora and fauna.

Day 6 – Bremer Bay to Albany
Bremer Bay, Tozer’s Bush Camp, Stirling Range, Albany
This morning before we leave the region we visit local spots for orchids and then visit Tozer’s Bush Camp which has natural bushland of high diversity of wildflowers and orchids.
You will find it very difficult to be drawn away from this unique bushland.
Travel to Stirling Range National Park for lunch and to explore the area for orchids and sight of the wonderful Stirling Range National Park.

Day 7 – Albany to Perth
Albany sights, Kojonup, Perth
In the Albany region visit hot spots for unique and endangered flora.
Continue to Albany visit The Gap and Natural Bridge, Mt Clarence overlooking Princess Royal Harbour and King George Sound.
Visit Albany town sights visit Mt Clarence overlooking Princess Royal Harbour and King George Sound, Middleton Beach and overnight Albany.
On the return to Perth visit Kojonup for special hotspots for orchids.
We tour through Jarrah, Marri, Wandoo woodlands before descending the Darling Escarpment into Perth late afternoon.
