Our complete Rome tour begins at disembarkation (usually 9:00 am) just 30 meters from your cruise exit. We are authorized to operate in the port, so we ensure you have door-to-door service in one of our comfortable vehicles.
From there, we will take you directly to the magnificent St. Peter’s Square. This historic area is located behind the walled Vatican City, the seat of the Catholic Church. You will see Michelangelo’s incomparable Sistine Chapel, the Basilica, as well as its massive plaza where thousands gather to hear the Pope speak.
There’s so much to take in, and next we’ll visit the majestic Piazza Cavour, overlooking the Palace of Justice designed by Guglielmo Calderini in 1888. Then, we’ll head over to the incredible, colorful Piazza di Spagna and its world famous Spanish Steps, where you can stop and soak in the full flavor of Roman life.
Other “must see” spots on the tour include the Colosseum, the Villa Borghese and its lush gardens, and the sights, sounds, and smells of the open air market at Campo Di Fiori.
You will have a full day of sightseeing, visiting every significant landmark, statue, fountain, cobblestone street, or church, spanning of the entire spectrum of Roman history going back to its inception in 753 B.C.
But relax, we are on your schedule, not ours! While the full itinerary includes 20 stops, feel free to linger in places that intrigue you. The tour can end any time you like, and we also guarantee you won’t miss your cruise. (We suggest our driver pick you up at 4:00pm and you can nap while he returns you to the ship by 5:30 pm.)

Your trip begins with collection from the cruise terminal in the morning, to arrive at the Colosseum by 11:00 AM, where you will be whisked to the front of the queue. Immediately begin exploring this majestic ruin, the largest amphitheater built during the Roman Empire, designed to entertain the masses with brutal, violent spectacles. Its capacity is estimated to have been 70,000 people, who were all admitted free of charge to watch vicious gladiator fights and hunting simulations involving exotic animals. Included in your skip-the-line tickets is the entrance to the Palatine Hill and Imperial Forums.
Explore both above ground and below, marveling at the unbelievable engineering techniques of the Romans and the intricate theatrical system of hoists, ramps, and trapdoors that made the arena function (included in the underground option). For an extra fee you can purchase a guided tour option, an audio or video tour, or complete underground tour. All are available in many different languages.
After about three hours, head over to St. Peter’s Square, where you can marvel at the Sistine Chapel, take in the ornate Basilica, and gasp at the massive outdoor plaza. The tour has 18 other possible stops, according to your preference, to be explored at your own pace. Wherever you decide to roam in Rome, the minivan will pick you up at 16:00, and you can take a nap while being safely returned to your ship.
