This relaxed 4-hour sightseeing experience showcases the very best of the Whakatipu Basin, taking guests beyond the Queenstown town centre to discover the region’s stunning scenery, rich history, vibrant local culture, and renowned wine.
Highlights include - breathtaking panoramic viewpoints high above Queenstown, followed by a visit to Queenstown’s newest destination, Ayrburn, where guests will enjoy free time to explore the grounds and a complimentary barista-made coffee or hot beverage.
The journey continues to historic Arrowtown, where guests can step back in time and learn about the region’s gold mining heritage, with the opportunity to try their hand at gold panning.
No introduction to Queenstown would be complete without experiencing the region’s world-famous wines. The tour concludes with a relaxed wine tasting and cheese platter at a local vineyard, providing the perfect taste of Central Otago.
Operating daily from 9:00am – 1:00pm , with departures from central Queenstown and selected Queenstown hotels, this tour is the perfect introduction to Queenstown for first-time visitors and those looking for a relaxed half-day experience.

Your Taste-bud Tingling Afternoon

Meet your friendly local guide in the Queenstown town centre outside The Station Building on Camp Street. From here we travel out and enjoy exploring the Gibbston wine region and Queenstown, visiting a diverse range of cellar doors offering unique collections of both local wines and craft beers.

Location One – GT Tasting

Our first stop is the GT Tasting Room at the historic Gibbston Tavern. Here, you can sample either local wine or craft beer — both options are spectacular. The wine is locally grown and produced, as well as the beer coming from a small brewery just down the road. This spot is a great introduction to the flavours of the Gibbston region, whether you’re sipping a crisp wine or a refreshing local beer.

Location Two – Kinross

Next, we’ll head to Kinross Cellar Door, where things start to get really fun (and flavourful). If you’re here for beer, you’ll love the selection from a local small-batch brewery. For wine lovers, Kinross represents five boutique wineries, offering a selection of some of the best Pinot Noirs in the world. At this stop everyone the Kinross team will also deliver to the antipasto platters for all to share.

Location Three: Altitude Brewing

Altitude Brewing is a laid-back craft brewery and taproom located at Frankton Marina in Queenstown, right on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with views of the Remarkables. Founded in 2013 by local brewer Eliott Menzies, it’s known for approachable, flavour-driven beers like the Mischievous Kea IPA and for supporting local charities through every sale. The red-shed taproom offers 12 rotating taps, food trucks, and a relaxed, community-minded vibe that has made Altitude a favourite stop for both locals and visitors exploring Queenstown’s growing craft-beer scene.

Locations are subject to change, however in the case where we cannot visit one of the mentioned cellar doors, it will replaced with an equally great location with delicious wines to taste.

Start your day being met by your wine-certified guide at or near your Queenstown accommodation. From there, we'll travel a short distance to the Gibbston wine region, home to top-rated wineries, award-winning winemakers, and, of course, delicious Pinot Noir.

Gibbston Valley Winery

Our first location is the iconic Gibbston Valley Winery. Gibbston Valley is one of the region's founding wineries and it's here that we will join a guided tour through New Zealand's largest underground wine cave and enjoy tastings of some of their world-famous wines.

Kinross

Kinross is our second stop and a fantastic location to try a range of different wines across multiple labels. Along with producing their own wines, their cellar door host will also showcase wines from smaller producers and share their incredible stories of how they came to be. After your wine tasting, we allow extra time to enjoy lunch. Kinross has a range of delicious dishes on its menu, including pizzas, platters, smaller bites, and mains. This is ordered and paid directly on the day, giving you the flexibility to order what you would like based on your taste and budget.

Mt Rosa Wines

Mt Rosa is a smaller owner-operated winery and their stunning location is situated just below the impressive Nevis Bluff. Sitting in the vines, their newly built cellar door building gives you a sophisticated backdrop to a delicious tasting menu. Their cellar door host will take you through different varieties of their single-label wines. Their mulled wine is a customer highlight!

Ayrburn

Finish your day at Ayrburn, one of Queenstown’s most vibrant precincts. Known for its welcoming hospitality and stunning surroundings, it’s the perfect place to enjoy your final tasting. Nestled in a beautifully restored farm building, Ayrburn Wines are crafted from Central Otago’s finest vineyards, offering nuanced flavours that truly showcase the region.

Experience the Unforgettable
