The Cathedral boasts over seven centuries of history. Begun in 1386 and completed only in the 20th century, it is an unmissable stop on your Milanese stay: its imposing presence and pure beauty are impossible to ignore.

In the second part of the tour you will also enter the cathedral, which is an absolute masterpiece, stunning architecture that took centuries to complete. In 1386, the first Duke of Milan, Gian Galeazzo Visconti, commissioned the construction of this cathedral on the ruins of two previous churches, Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Tecla.


From its inception, the cathedral was dedicated to Santa Maria Nascente and conceived as Gothic architecture. You will explore a place full of history, art and faith, admiring fantastic stained glass windows, exceptional works of art, revered relics and unparalleled architectural solutions.
