In June 1629, just days after the wreck of the Batavia on the Abrolhos Islands, junior officer Adriaan van der Meer and three loyal sailors fled the mutiny in a stolen longboat. Instead of following Commander Pelsaert to Jakarta, they sailed east toward the mainland, where no European was known to have survived.
After days at sea, Adriaan van der Meer landed near modern-day Geraldton, and what he encountered would rewrite history. Trained in navigation and languages, van der Meer traded knowledge of Dutch navigation for survival skills with the Yamaji people. Over time, he documented his experiences in a secret journal, written in Dutch, Yamatji, and improvised symbols to keep it safe.
Before his death, Adriaan hid the journal near the foreshore, leaving behind clues carved into rocks, star-based riddles, and Yamaji symbols. Then... he vanished
His journal is thought to contain evidence of the mutineers' plans and the location of a valuable hidden VOC artifact.
Your Quest is to piece together Adriaan van der Meer's trail using clues hidden across 10 locations along Geraldton’s foreshore. At each location you will be required to solve three Location Clues from observation, these will be worth 10 points each. Once solved these clues will unlock a VOC Cipher worth 20 points. When you have finished the Quest you can compare your score with everyone who has played the Quest on the Leaderboard.

To complete the Quest simply buy your Quest Code. One code will allow you to play in solo mode or invite one other player on to your team so that you can share the Quest across both your devices and Quest together. If you would like to compete aganist your freinds, you simply by 1 code per team. (A team is 1 or 2 people). You'll recieve an eMail with a link to download the free Quest app and directions to begin your quest.
You can complete your Quest at a time and date of your own choosing. The Quest Code will never expire.
