It suits students who have already had one or more surf lessons before and can consistently stand up.
If you are looking to learn the extra skills to take your surfing to the next level then this is the lesson for you!
Our qualified instructors will teach you about Surfers Etiquette, surf safety, the values of different surfboard sizes and much more! More info
Salt Spray Surf School provides all students with C-Skin Wetsuits and Soft Surfboards of a range of different shapes and sizes to suit the students surfing ability and size! We also allow for each student to bring along their own wetsuit or surfboard if they have it as it is always best to learn on their own equipment.

This is the same as a group beginner Lesson but just for kids and every Tuesday and Thursday morning of January!
Learning to surf the waves is truly an exhilarating experience and there is no better place to learn than the soft sands of Ohope Beach.
Your instructors are friendly local surfers, fully qualified in surf coaching, first aid, and surf safety and awareness.
When you have finished you’ll have gained a certificate and surfing knowledge to help you on your new surfing journey.
Whether it be learning to surf with a group of friends, family or work colleagues, Salt Spray will cater for you. Our qualified instructors will teach you about ocean awareness, surf safety, and teach you the basics you need to catch waves, with the emphasis on fun. More info

Learn to surf alongside a group of other beginners. Group sizes can be up to 15 surfers and Instructor to Surfer ratio will never be more than 1:6.

A fun filled day of Surfing, Games and Ocean Education! Our Holiday Programs run in between term 3 & 4, the week before Christmas and sometimes in April (Water temperature dependent) They are a full day of Surfing, Ocean education and heaps of extra beach based fun! More info
The focus of the Holiday program is to get each and every student up and riding the waves by the end of the day, progressing in confidence and skill each day.
Extra surf skills learnt are:
