Departing the Perth CBD, you’ll travel south to Pinjarra: a colonial settlement established in 1830 and located on the banks of the Murray River. The town has many historic landmarks including the beautifully restored Edenvale Homestead built in 1888 and once home to a former WA Premier, Sir Ross McLarty, a descendant of Scottish colonists which is the location for your morning tea stop (included in the tour price)


Feeling refreshed, you will have ample time to explore the surrounding Edenvale Homestead Precinct where you have the opportunity to meet and chat with the local artisans: potters, quilters, artists and machine enthusiasts and browse the Gift Shop where interesting displays of other locally- produced craft are on sale.


Late morning, you will re-board your tour coach and travel across country; passing through the neighbouring farmlands towards the coast to reach Lake Clifton at the southern end of the Yalgorup National Park. The pristine waters of this freshwater lake are the location of the largest thrombolite reef in the Southern Hemisphere extending over six kilometres along its eastern edge. Stroll along a raised boardwalk to get a close-up view of these extraordinarily rare, living organisms: estimated to be over 2000 years old and resembling rock-like stepping stones.


Heading north from Lake Clifton, you will enjoy a delicious two-course lunch (included in the tour price) at a delightful restaurant overlooking a local marina and the Dawesville Cut: an artificial outlet to the Indian Ocean engineered to flush out micro-algal blooms in the shallow Peel-Harvey estuary


After lunch, a short drive brings you to the booming town of Mandurah; home to canal and beachside living. Sit back and relax as you cruise (included in the tour price) the natural and artificial waterways of the Peel Inlet; a vast estuary covering an area of 134 square kilometres (twice the size of Sydney Harbour). Marvel at the luxury, canal side homes and be on the lookout for species of migratory birds in the protected wetlands and pods of bottle-nosed dolphins who are frequent visitors to the estuary.


Late afternoon we will return you to the Perth CBD after a relaxing and memorable day tour experience
