Half Day - Hells Gate Tour
We travel through to Hells Gate to visit New Zealand's most unique geothermal experience where you can take a 45 minute guided walk through the geothermal valley to see boiling mud and steam billowing into the sky.
We will have you back at your ship at the Port of Tauranga well prior to your sailing time.

Half Day - Agrodome Tour
Your activity will be at the Agrodome , where you will enjoy a fun-packed hour of entertainment and education at the legendary Farm Show! You’ll hear amazing facts and have a few laughs as you’re introduced to 19 breeds of sheep. Then, witness a live sheep shearing demonstration and a fun sheep auction with bidding from the floor and audience participation.
The animal stars are not just sheep, the remarkable farm dogs will amaze you, as they demonstrate their ability to respond to commands and keep those sheep (and ducks!) in line!
If a hands-on experience is what you want, jump up on stage for the opportunity to feed the baby lambs or even hand-milk a cow!
After the Farm Show, there is the opportunity to go outside to the dog trial area to watch the talented dogs in the dog trial.

Te Puia Tour
A day of excitement, culture, kai and connection awaits…
Once we depart the Port of Tauranga and pass through the City, we will be bound for Rotorua which will be approx a 1.5hr drive. During this time you can enjoy an array of our (all inclusive) snacks and cakes, relax with a water or soft drink while you sit back and take in the beautiful scenic views, of which there will be many.
The Bay of Plenty region we are travelling through today is well known for its significant horticultural, forestry and tourism industries which are well established in the region. We will be passing through a lot of farmland as we continue our journey to Rotorua.
Once we have arrived in Rotorua, our day is spent at Te Puia, Rotorua’s world-class guided experience and cultural performance centre. You will experience a leading cultural performance in a beautifully carved meeting house, Te Aronui a Rua. It will include a Pōhiri (Traditional Māori Welcome), Waiata (Song), Mōteatea (traditional chant), Poi and Haka.
You come face to face with the biggest, naturally active geyser in the Southern Hemisphere Pōhutu Geyser, and enjoy the up-close experience with the New Zealand Kiwi, in the brand-new Kiwi Conservation Centre. Be mesmerised by exploding mud pools all throughout the valley and gaze at beautifully crafted Māori-made artwork and sculptures visible throughout Te Puia.
If time permits, lunch (not included) is available at Pātaka Kai Restaurant. A Hāngī Lunch Buffet, each dish has a twist of authentic Māori cuisine then crafted with locally sourced and freshly prepared ingredients by award-winning chefs. From Steamed Puddings to Kai Moana (Seafood), Manuka Smoked Ham, Hāngī Chicken, Pātaka Kai has something to tempt all taste buds with tantalizing dishes.
On our journey back to your ship, you can sit back and enjoy the memories you made today while you were exploring “our backyard”.

Wai-O-Tapu Tour
Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland is New Zealand's most colourful geothermal attraction.
This will be a very colorful day to remember so have your cameras charged and ready…
As we depart Tauranga, our journey through to Waiotapu will take approx 1.5 hrs, so sit back and enjoy the ride, snacks and soft drinks (all inclusive) as you take in the beautiful Aotearoa scenery.
On route we will be passing through a lot of farming land, avocado and kiwifruit orchards and pine forests. As we get nearer to Rotorua, we pass Lakes Rotoiti and Lake Rotorua, 2 of the 16 lakes in the region.
Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, is named as "One of the 20 Most Surreal Places in the World" Thousands of years in the making and unique geothermal elements sculpted by thousands of years of geothermal activity. Waiotapu (Māori for "sacred waters").
Prior to European occupation the area was the homeland of the Ngāti Whaoa tribe who descended from those on the Arawa waka (canoe).
Unique features include the world famous Champagne Pool naturally coloured springs, bubbling mud, steaming ground, expansive vistas, huge volcanic craters and sinter terrace formations. The natural bush setting adds another dimension to the experience as does the Lady Knox Geyser which erupts daily at 10.15 am to heights of up to 20 meters.
The Visitor Centre has a wide range of New Zealand souvenirs and a cafe where you can purchase food, drinks etc.
On our leisurely scenic drive back to your ship, you will have time to peruse the many photos from your day full of glorious colour.

Whakarewarewa Tour
We welcome you aboard to a day of cultural discovery and geothermal wonderland exploration…
As we depart the Port of Tauranga bound for the Rotorua region, we will take you around Mount Maunganui inner harbour, enjoy the views of the glorious white sand surf beach which stretches as far as the eye can see. Our journey today will be approx a 1hr drive so sit back and enjoy.

Upon arrival to Rotorua, we spend the day at The Living Maori Village, Whakarewarewa.
Whakarewarewa is the legacy and home of the Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people, who have been sharing their unique way of life with visitors from all around the world for over two hundred years.
Explore an authentic living Māori village where people live on a daily basis, using natural geothermal resources to cook, bathe and heat their homes as they have for centuries.
View the geothermal wonders of Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley including the world-famous Pōhutu geyser, boiling mud-pools, steam vents and bubbling pools. Learn what it’s like to live in the challenging geothermal plateau where daily life includes cooking in the bubbling pools and steam vents, and bathing in the refreshing therapeutic waters. Take in all the various historical landmarks and buildings, including an active Marae (meeting grounds and focal point of Maori communities), the WWII Memorial Archway, historic churches, and tapu (sacred) burial grounds. Whakarewarewa is truly NZ’s iconic Living Maori Village experience.
The Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people have a proud history of sharing their stories through song and dance spanning over a century. Relax in the performance area as you immerse yourself on an historic journey using song & dance, stick games, hand, eye & body movements to tell their stories, myths & legends.

Hobbiton Tour
As we depart Mt Maunganui , we cross over the harbour looking back to take in the great views of Mauao (Mt Maunganui). We then make our way over the Kaimai Ranges into the Mighty Waikato district, known for its dairy farming area of New Zealand.
After an hour of driving, we soon arrive at Hobbiton; the movie set location for Lord of The Rings and associated films where you will enjoy an informative 2 1/2 hour tour around the movie set.
You will be taken behind the scenes of such a successful movie, walk through a fully furnished hobbit hole, stand under the party tree, walk past the numerous holes within the Shire, and imagine yourself among the characters. At the conclusion of your journey you get a special treat in the Green Dragon Inn where you will receive a local shire ale, cider or ginger beer.
On our return journey to the port we will call in at McLaren Falls & Park, which abounds with a diverse range of tree species & bird-life. You now have the opportunity to walk in the native bush to a beautiful waterfall.
Now it’s homeward we travel into Tauranga City, before we head back along the inner harbor past the local fishing boats, over the Harbor bridge along the port back to your ship with plenty of time to spare to enjoy the beach before sailing time.
