Maple Syrup Express

Canada and Maple syrup go together like Batman and Robin. The Maple leaf is even on our flag. On this day trip we're going to show you what every local visits at least once in their life - a maple syrup farm!

You'll kick start your day by having all you can eat pancakes and maple syrup. After that, you'll burn a few calories on a short hike to a maple demonstration. Here you can try taffy which is syrup prepared on ice!

We'll then finish the farm visit with the Maple syrup museum of Ontario and a gift shop for goodies.

After this, we'll drive over to the St Jacobs Farmers market. This place has 300+ vendors with fresh produce, food stalls, gifts and goodies. Spread over 3 large indoor areas. This Farmers market scores highly on all fronts.

As this trip takes place between winter and spring, we encourage you to wear warm clothing for conditions. If you have allergies, Please be aware that their food service may contain or come into contact with common allergens, such as dairy, eggs, wheat, soybeans, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish or wheat.

This tour will take place in our 15 passenger customized transit. Onboard we have a TV, basic WIFI, Games Console, Karaoke and more! However there is not a washroom. The drive is approximately 1 hour between places.

Camping in Algonquin Park (Family Friendly)

The only thing better than a one day trip to Algonquin Park, is a two day trip to Algonquin Park. This is a Canadian classic type of trip that everyone should do at least once. For this trip, we'll be camping at Whitefish Group campsite or Lake of Two Rivers which is Front Country. We'll provide you with Tents, Sleeping bag, Sleeping Liner, Mat & Pillow! We'll also be partaking in a Canoe session on Canoe Lake. There is no minimum age for this but all children need to be supervised by an adult.

This trip is designed with families in mind, so don't expect any long hikes or strenuous activities. We'll be doing hikes, but on the easier trails with less distance that are categorized as easy.

We'll be doing Front country camping on this trip, and it doesn't matter if you have experience or not, we'll help you feel comfortable and have an awesome time in the process. We'll plan out suitable activities based on your family and their levels. While a large number of families send their kids to camp, some prefer to go camping with them so they can share the memories.

We'll provide transport, 3 meals, tents, permits, canoes and guidance. You just show up and we'll do the rest.

This tour will take place in our 15 passenger customized transit. Onboard we have a TV, basic WIFI, Games Console, Karaoke and more entertainment! However there is not a washroom. We will make washroom breaks every 1-2 hours.

This tour departs from Toronto (Yorkdale TTC Passenger pick up).

FAQ's

 What's included?

Return transportation
Northbound Driver Tour Leader - First responder certified
Permits for Algonquin Provincial Park
Camping permit and campsite
Canoe experience
3 x group meals (dietary restrictions can accommodated)
All camping paraphernalia: tents, sleeping mat, pillow, sleeping bag

 Dietary requests (food)

We often get asked if we can accommodate dietary restrictions. The short answer is yes, if we know about them. Please let your tour leader know at the start of the trip if you have any restrictions so they can tailor their food shop. E.g., Vegetarian, no pork, etc.

 Parking

We do our pick-ups from Yorkdale TTC passenger pick-up. We suggest taking public transportation to the meeting point. If you must take the car, the options are to park at Wilson Passenger pick-up and parking—this is free on the weekends and subject to availability. We would not suggest parking at Yorkdale Mall as vehicles may be ticketed or towed after 5 hours. If parking on the weekend, please check what the current parking rules are for Wilson station.

 How many people per tent?

For family camping, we'll aim to keep families together. With that said, we may have to use some larger tents (8 person) which would aim to have same genders sharing. This is on the off chance we can not accommodate the dynamic of the groups. We'll do our best.

 Can I bring my pet?

We love animals, but we can't allow pets, we’re afraid. We will designate a few pet-friendly dates each year, but it's impossible for us to know if anyone has an allergy to dogs or cats, etc., ahead of time, and we don't want to cause any reactions in an enclosed space. We really do think dogs are paw-fect! And we will aim to offer some pet-friendly dates which will be clearly listed in the future.
