Tours Paraparaumu

The rare and highly inquisitive alpaca is one of the most adorable animals in the world.
A visit to Silverstream Alpaca Stud farm, just 20 minutes north of Christchurch, near Kaiapoi
is one of those must do activities that will have your family and friends, totally captivated and
wanting to come back again.


All tours are escorted by the owner (Kit) who will start the tour off with a few fascinating stories
about their family's journey into alpacas and the opportunities the alpacas have created.
After a brief safety talk, we head out to feed the alpacas - time to photograph, take videos, touch
and wrap your arms around these beautiful animals. In season (November to April) there will be
the opportunity to hold some babies (Cria).


The second part of the tour is a visit to the fibre shed where visitors get to see and touch prize
winning fleeces. The alpaca fleece is so so soft and lustrous and is one of the finest fibres in the world.
The tour concludes with a visit to our trophy room and alpaca shop. Looking for something different
